The direct answer on Topgolf Calgary
No, there is no Topgolf Calgary location. Topgolf publishes its own list of global venues, and as of September 2026 it covers the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and a handful of other countries. Canada is not on it, so there is no Topgolf Canada location either.
Announcements about a large golf entertainment venue in Alberta have circulated since 2024. Reporting since then has pushed the opening back and points to a site near Edmonton rather than Calgary. Timelines and branding both shift, so check the company's own venue list rather than an old headline.
One more thing causes confusion. The Topgolf name is also licensed to a simulator lounge product installed inside other businesses such as hotels. That is not the same as a Topgolf venue with the outfield and target greens, so a listing carrying the name does not mean a full venue is nearby.
What people actually mean by top golf Calgary
Almost nobody typing top golf Calgary into a search bar is doing brand research. The search usually means one of four things.
- A bay to hit from, with somewhere for the non-swingers to sit.
- A score on a screen, so the night is a game rather than a bucket of balls.
- A social night that works for the people in the group who have never golfed.
- Somewhere to hit in February, when every course in the city is frozen.
Calgary covers all four. The answers come from different kinds of venue, and picking the wrong one is what ruins the evening.
The three kinds of places to hit balls here
Heated outdoor bays
The closest thing in spirit to what most people picture. Covered, heated stalls looking out at a real outfield, usually attached to a course on the edge of the city, with a longer season than an open range. You hit real distance into real air, which nothing indoors reproduces. They are also the most weather-dependent of the three.
Indoor simulator venues
A bay, a screen, a mat and a system that measures the shot. You get a number after every swing, you can play full courses, and the room is the same temperature in January as in July. The trade is hitting into a screen a few metres away rather than watching a ball land.
Standard driving ranges, in season
Cheapest per ball and best for volume. Grass or mats, a bucket, and no screen telling you anything. In Calgary they generally run spring to autumn, so they solve about half the year.
Where PGM fits, and where it does not
PGM Indoor Golf sits in the middle category. Both sides of that are worth stating plainly.
What it is not: a bar. There is no kitchen and no alcohol on the premises, and nobody works on site. Snacks and drinks come from the vending machine in the lounge. If the evening you are picturing is wings and a pitcher while somebody sprays driver, the first category is the one you want.
What it is: six private bays just south of Glenmore Trail in SE Calgary, each with its own simulator and touchscreen, open 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Your group has the bay to itself, and you bring your own clubs because none are provided. Inside the bay: more than 200 virtual courses, a virtual driving range, and Swing Cam, all included in the rate.
The honest comparison
A big entertainment venue sells you the room, the food and the noise, and charges per person. A private bay sells you the bay. The rate is per bay, per hour, shared by everyone in it, so four people split one price. Bookings come in 30-minute blocks, and you can extend on the day if nobody has booked the bay after you.
What an hour costs
Rates are per bay, per hour, plus GST, and they move with the day and time.
- $18 an hour: before 9 AM Sunday to Thursday, before 10 AM Friday and Saturday, and from 11 PM Sunday to Thursday.
- $30 an hour: 9 AM to 11 PM Sunday to Thursday, and 10 AM to 6 PM Friday.
- $35 an hour: Friday from 6 PM and Saturday from 10 AM, both until midnight.
Budget 1 to 1.5 hours per player including warm-up. Four friends on a Friday night is 4 to 6 hours of bay time at $35 an hour, so $140 to $210 for the group before GST. The rates page has the full schedule and a planner for your group size.
How to pick
- If the night is mostly about food and atmosphere, pick a venue built around that.
- If it is mostly about hitting and scoring, a private bay gives you far more swings per hour.
- If someone in the group has never held a club, private is kinder than a public row of stalls.
- Between October and April, indoors is the only option that holds every time.
- If the start time is awkward, 6 AM or 11 PM, the 24-hour option is the only one open.
If a bay is what you wanted
There is no Topgolf Calgary venue to wait for, so if a private bay covers what you actually wanted, pick a time on the Calgary booking page and bring your clubs. If you expect to go more than a few times, the membership options change the maths. Anything else goes to the FAQ or 403-680-3380.
